Kids of all ages are invited to put a little nature into Halloween at Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge’s Creepy Critter Encounters from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 29th. Attendees can see live animals such as reptiles and insects. Visitors can also learn about creatures of the Refuge on a spooky hike, create Halloween crafts, and listen to spooky stories. Before the close of the event, visitors are welcome to hoot for owls and howl for coyotes. Costumes are welcome!
Creepy Critter Encounters provides free family fun and will be held rain or shine at the refuge Visitor Center near Lake Lowell. The Visitor Center entrance road is located at the intersection of Roosevelt and Indiana in Nampa. This event is supported by AmeriCorps and the Friends of Deer Flat Wildlife Refuge.
